We are seeking an experienced Store Manager with a hands on approach and sales skills. We have a boutique gift store that is well established and in need of someone to take the helm and drive sales. This will be a great fit for someone that works well independently, can initiate changes as needed, is comfortable making decisions and being accountable, is able to collaborate with other leaders, and has an eye for merchandising to create effective displays.
General duties include but are not limited to:
Opening and closing the store 5-6 days a week.
Merchandising new inventory and updating current displays.
Delegating tasks as able to maximize effectiveness.
Making sales in the store and drive upselling through great service and suggestions.
Operating a POS system to transact sales, pull reports, analyze data, and track inventory.
Nurture positive communication with employees and other leaders.
Communicate effectively about concerns or issues and foster employee development.
Practice problem solving skills to enhance workflow.
Solve customer issues in a manner that is fair to the company and the customer, is honest, and brings resolution quickly.
Other duties as they may arise to assist the owner in operating the business.
Mandatory Skills:
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, at least a basic understanding of Excel
Email proficiency. Should be able to write appropriate emails to clients and vendors.
Cashiering
Sales. Must have some experience selling in a retail environment.
Leadership. Must have at least 3 years of proven leadership in a managerial role.
Desired Skills:
Quickbooks proficiency and/or bookkeeping foundations
Advanced Excel knowledge
Cloud based POS systems
Marketing principals
Merchandising principals
Sales trainer or educator (Able to train sales skills for new hires)
This position is full time and salary is negotiable based on experience and skills. There will be a 1 month period of hourly pay (some overtime is possible) before meeting to negotiate a yearly salary. Company match health insurance, paid lunch breaks and 1 week paid vacation yearly are available. We do assess for regular raises and there is room for advancement at this position.
