The Salvation Army Red Kettle fundraiser is Monterey is mostly volunteer-based, but there are 2-3 short-term (2-3 week) seasonal positions as bellringer.
A paid bellringer represents The Salvation Army's presence in each community by standing at various locations (mostly storefronts) for up to eight hours per day. They ring the iconic red bell and collect donations on behalf of The Salvation Army, as has been tradition since 1891. These funds stay local and, in Monterey, fund family housing programs, food programs, hot showers and more.
The bellringer must be neat, courteous and responsible as they represent The Salvation Army.
