Rasa Caffe is a Black owned business located in downtown Oakland near 12th street Bart at 411 13th St. Looking for enthusiastic applicants who are friendly kind, fast-learning, and detail-oriented baristas to join our team.
Applicants must have flexible schedules.
Applicants must be open to learning our drink set up and willing to commit to 3-4 shifts per week. A six-month to one-year minimum commitment is preferred.
One year + of specialty coffee Barista experience is preferred. Latte art skills are a big bonus!
We are an award-winning local coffee & tea establishment that roasts our own coffee, makes our Rasa chai and specialty drinks essences (syrups) in-house from original recipes.
Responsibilities of Café Team Members:
Being a team player capable of communicating well and working in a small space
• High standard of customer service; positive demeanor with special care
• Opening and closing cafe shifts
• Working within cafe guidelines and our espresso recipe
• Espresso bar etiquette - keeping the bar clean and organized
• Open to learning and practicing latte art once on bar
• Multi-tasking
• Be punctual for shift arrival and follow café dress code and etiquette
• Quickly learn recipes and preparation of our specialty drinks
• Maintain cleaning protocols in cafe (espresso machine, dishes, sweeping).
Qualified applicants will possess:
• A current food handler’s card
• Full Covid-19 vaccination and booster shot
• follow Proper Covid-19 protocols when applicable with Attire for work shifts (as stated in protocol for Oakland/Alameda County (CA 2023/2024)
• Money handling skills
• Minimum high school diploma or GED
Hours: 3-4 shifts per week with growth potential
Pay rate: $18 - $20 starting + tips
