F&G is looking to hire for a Data Engineer
We are seeking a Data Engineer to provide technical expertise and support for teams working on multiple, concurrent data integration projects. In this role, you will collaborate with technical teams to design and implement functional solutions, ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of data pipelines and integration processes. You will also partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand evolving business needs, translating them into scalable and effective data architectures that support the organization’s goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with IT teams and Lines of Business on multi-domain integration initiatives.
- Support the delivery of business-facing data solutions that drive key business outcomes.
- Provide technical support to teams and contribute to managing data integration projects.
- Contribute to project and maintenance effort estimates in partnership with management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in data management and integration processes.
- Serve as a resource for data analysis and data engineering tasks, supporting ongoing projects.
- Develop and implement ETL workflows using tools such as Informatica, scripting, and load utilities.
- Collaborate with technical teams to develop functional solutions that meet data and business requirements.
- Ensure the smooth operation of data integration processes, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of data pipelines and integration solutions across multiple projects.
- Assist with managing the technical aspects of data platforms, including SaaS, third-party, and custom applications.
- Identify and address inefficiencies in third-party software, focusing on data integrity, security, performance, and manageability.
- Work with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable, efficient data architectures.
- Collaborate with Senior Data Engineers and Architects on designing solutions, ensuring successful project roadmaps and delivery.
- Participate in data management processes such as creating, loading, transforming, cleansing, processing, analyzing, and visualizing data.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 2+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting near real-time data pipelines and analytical solutions, preferably using Informatica.
- 2+ years of experience in ETL support and production data operations, including file processing, data distribution, debugging, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Hands-on experience with MS SSIS, Informatica PowerCenter, and Informatica Data Management Cloud.
- Proficiency in SQL Server with strong T-SQL query writing and data model interpretation skills.
- Extensive experience writing automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests for data interfaces and pipelines.
Preferred Requirements
- Exposure to Snowflake.
- Experience working with Azure Cloud.
- Exposure working with Data Security teams.
- Understanding of object-oriented analysis and design.
- Experience within a Financial Services/Insurer’s IT Organization.
- Experience with database design/modeling tools such as Erwin.
- Experience building data pipelines and interfaces with object-oriented languages (.Net, Java, Python)
- Preferred experience in supporting data transfers from / to external organizations and internal systems using GlobalScape Enhanced File Transfer (EFT).

- Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
