Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
Bayview Asset Management is seeking to hire an experienced professional to serve as a VP, Client Services Lead to support its newly established Insurance Asset Management business. Partnering with senior business, investment and functional leaders across Bayview, the successful candidate will be a critical component of designing and establishing the infrastructure necessary to onboard and provide continuous service to insurance asset management clients across separately managed accounts and private fund vehicles.
The incoming Client Services Lead will leverage their deep knowledge of the insurance asset management landscape, institutional asset management structures, operations, and processes to build efficient onboarding and servicing workflows. The successful candidate will further work alongside investment, asset allocation and business development teams to oversee day-to-day client relationship management activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain oversight of the entire insurance client lifecycle from initial onboarding to continuous client service and reporting, including the following responsibilities:
Client onboarding:
- Design and implement the institutional insurance asset management on-boarding processes for separately managed accounts.
- Provide support and responsiveness to the prospective client due diligence process, including ad hoc requests as well as due diligence questionnaire answers.
- Manage the coordination between portfolio management, compliance, legal, finance and technology teams throughout the client onboarding process; in addition, coordinate with external custodians and counterparties.
Client service:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for senior stakeholders for insurance client relationships, managing Bayview’s cross-firm efforts to serve key insurance clients.
- Oversee the development and delivery of both periodic and ad-hoc reporting to insurance clients. Work closely with our data, finance and portfolio managers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reporting and ensure it meets client and management requirements.
- Work collaboratively with senior asset allocation and business development professionals to create and maintain presentation materials, investor reporting, meeting preparation, CRM database management and client-specific follow-up requests and projects.
- Work with portfolio managers and other key stakeholders in the development, structuring, and marketing of new insurance product offerings. Evaluate how products can meet insurance company goals for yield, duration and capital-efficiency. Review potential clients and identify right product for each unique set of client needs.
- Collaborate with senior-level investment and company leadership to develop and execute strategic and operational priorities for the Insurance Asset Management business as well as the greater Bayview complex.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
- Excellent client service orientation, with established experience working with insurance clients.
- Knowledge of and ability to build processes around client operations, on-boarding, and reporting for insurance asset management clients.
- Deep knowledge of the operations and infrastructure of separately managed accounts and private fund vehicles.
- Deep knowledge of the insurance industry, investments, and regulatory landscape.
- Oversee and coordinate several processes during client onboarding, including but not limited to: IMA and investment guideline creation, AML and KYC procedures, trust, custody, and servicing agreements.
- Established track record of successfully managing ongoing client service activities with existing clients.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders; strong executive presence and presentation skills.
- High attention-to-detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- An entrepreneurial spirit.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Strong analytical skills; extensive working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to collaborate and thrive in a team environment; desire to contribute to team management and development as the business scales.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in investment management, with a focus on client services functions.
- Undergraduate degree or higher; MBA preferred.
COMPENSATION AND LOCATION:
- This is an onsite role and will be based in either Bayview’s New York, NY or Morristown, NJ office.
- Base compensation is expected to be $200-250k with the opportunity for incentive compensation including bonus and deferred compensation.
