The Sonoma County Water Agency (Sonoma Water) seeks a Surveying Technician II to join the Engineering and Resource Planning Division.
Starting salary up to $47.46/hour ($99,054/year) and a competitive total compensation package!*
The Sonoma Water Surveying Technician II is the journey-level class within the Sonoma Water Engineering Technician series and will be a part of the Engineering and Resource Planning Division, working collaboratively with Senior Survey Technicians. Some responsibilities include:
- Conducting field surveys as part of a 2-to-3-person survey crew
- Collecting data using land surveying field equipment
- Utilizing surveying equipment and Global Positioning System (GPS) instruments to determine points, lines, elevations, and distances
- Operating and maintaining tools and equipment
- Vegetation management to clear lines of sight as needed for surveying
The ideal candidate will have a desire to improve the environment through working in water and wastewater systems within the County of Sonoma. They will also possess many of the following:
- Two or more years surveying experience
- Comfortable with field surveying methods, equipment, and data collection
- A safety-oriented team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- A passion for land surveying and a desire to obtain a Land Surveyor In Training (LSIT) certificate
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble field survey equipment, and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Experience with field and office surveying tasks, including the use of total stations and GPS
