Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Aging Services Program Director, the Home Delivered Meals Manager focuses on the engagement and satisfaction of the homebound members. The Home Delivered Meals Manager has oversight of the Food and Nutrition Department West Delivery Team.
Schedule: Full-time (35 hours a week)
Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
- Supervise Food and Nutrition Department West Delivery Team
- Responsible for submitting invoices and other vendor documentation into the accounting system
- Manages and coordinates all day-to-day delivery operations.
- Ensure that policy changes are documented and communicated thoroughly
- Keep accurate records of all Meals on Wheels clients.
- Prepares and sources HDM data by compiling and sorting information, establishing entry priorities.
- Responsible for gathering information related to incidents and auto accidents and reporting these to the internal incident review committee
- Review, monitor, and maintain data for the Food and Nutrition Department.
- Recommend, implement, schedule, and promote wellness for homebound members.
- Suggest mechanisms including surveys, and other ways for communicating with, and receiving feedback from the homebound members.
- Identify, cultivate, and strengthen existing and new relationships with members.
- Attend external meetings, programs, and events to strengthen knowledge pertinent to the needs of the members.
- Coordinates all areas of vehicle maintenance, which will include, but is not limited to, refueling, repairs, weekly inspections, and monthly washing.
- Communicate with team members on changes within the department.
- Attend all staff training and meetings.
- Monitors and controls expenditures and maintains assigned budget.
- Perform other duties as directed and as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience and success working in partnership with an aging community, local residents and community organizations.
- Experience in reviewing and evaluating data
- Success at managing a wide array of tasks and projects and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience with and interest in working with an aging population.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
Education/Skills/Experience:
- A High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant experience managing large teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher.
- Experience with Peerplace a plus
- CPR certified and AED/first Aid Certified or be willing to attend both trainings
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Required to work the occasional evening as per program need.
- Required to work on Thanksgiving and Christmas
