About the role
The Business Developer is responsible for increasing RetireMed's market share through a targeted approach partnering with agencies and employer groups to drive Medicare and Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) sales.In this role, we are looking for someone who can generate tremendous growth opportunities for the organization, partnering with external brokers and agencies, and managing a large territory. Success will be measured based upon total membership and revenue growth, with a combination of base salary, commissions, and bonus incentives.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for following all CMS and other regulatory compliance guidelines
- Develop and execute B2B sales strategies for general insurance products
- Identify and establish relationships with potential business clients
- Provide tailored insurance solutions to meet individual client needs
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships through regular follow-ups
- Negotiate terms and conditions of insurance policies with clients
- Collaborate with underwriters to develop highly competitive proposals
- Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and regulatory changes
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations to potential clients
- Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry regulations
- Create a referral pipeline from group agencies to support inside sales teams for Medicare and Individual products
- All employees who work in the department support the One Team One Goal strategic focus; this means that you may occasionally take on tasks outside the normal scope of your job
Qualifications
What we are looking for
• Brokerage knowledge and experience connecting with key decision makers
• Group Health Insurance and ICHRA background
• Self-directed B2B negotiator, road warrior and sales mindset
•Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with CMR practices
Desired qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance Sales, Marketing, or related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably within the insurance industry
• Extensive knowledge of Medicare and ICHRA insurance products and services
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth
• Knowledge of ancillary plans, as well as insurance compliance and regulations
• Professional and proactive approach to work
• Ability to travel ~50% in defined territory
