Overview:
The Operations Manager (OM) will oversee operational activities at every level of our organization, focusing on planning, organizing, and strategizing daily operations. This role will be responsible for managing all crews and their day-to-day operations, serving as the primary point of contact for customers and field employees. The OM will lead the hiring, advancement, and, when necessary, termination of team members. A critical aspect of the OM's role will involve continuously evaluating company protocols and practices through a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) and communicating findings to ownership during scheduled meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Communication:
○ Ensure that customers are informed and satisfied with services provided. ○ Maintain open lines of communication with all employees.
2. Efficiency:
○ Develop project plans, ensuring timely completion within budget.
○ Regularly assess operational methods for improvement.
3. Safe Operations:
○ Minimize risks and ensure compliance with trade-related regulations. ○ Conduct job site inspections and communicate safety standards to the crew. 4. Scheduling & Planning:
○ Coordinate with the Operations Assistant Manager (OAM) to ensure all crews have a balanced workload.
○ Plan upcoming jobs and assign crew members based on project needs. 5. Team Management & Development:
○ Foster leadership development within the team through training and regular meetings.
○ Conduct individual and team meetings for performance evaluation and feedback. 6. Equipment Management:
○ Oversee the maintenance and inventory of equipment.
○ Ensure the crew is properly outfitted with necessary supplies and equipment. 7. Performance Oversight:
○ Be present at job sites for new, complex, or challenging tasks.
○ Handle customer complaints and ensure resolutions are communicated effectively.
8. Profitability Analysis:
○ Participate in CSNW bids and ensure timely submissions.
9. Termination Procedures:
○ Collaborate with the General Manager when employee terminations are necessary.
