Trinity Presbyterian Church, a vibrant, joyful and healthy congregation in beautiful San Carlos, CA, halfway between San Francisco and San Jose, is looking for personnel to lead our Music Ministries. We currently have one worship service at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
Applicants should love and be passionate about both contemporary praise songs and traditional Christian music and be excited to bring the joy and beauty of both to our congregation.
Qualifications for Director of Music Ministries:
- Strong faith in God and alignment with our organization's values and mission.
- At least 2 years of experience coordinating worship and leading various styles of music.
- Choral and instrumental skills to direct praise band, adult choir, and other ensembles such as children’s choir, drum circle and handbells as needed.
- Proven track record of effective organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging, teaching, and mentoring volunteers of all ages.
- A basic understanding of Protestant worship and the liturgical seasons is desirable.
- Experience in working with media tech and sound engineering is desirable.
Qualifications for Accompanist-Organist:
- Strong faith in God and alignment with our organization's values and mission.
- Highly competent in playing piano, keyboard and organ in various styles (e.g., contemporary, hymns, choir anthems, gospel, classical) for worship services.
- Ability to play SATB parts for choir as well as lead sheets for the worship band.
- At least 2 years of experience accompanying choirs and leading congregational music.
- Excellent sight-reading skills.
- A basic understanding of the Christian faith and Protestant worship.
