eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Develop, maintain, and enhance eBay's Android applications. Plan, define and execute test strategies in a multi-screen, multi-platform, multi-language web application environment and ensure they are released to production with high quality. Collaborate with other members of our software development team to design and implement new features. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Participate in code reviews to ensure that code quality is maintained throughout the software development lifecycle. Develop test automation code for software, carry out functional and nonfunctional testing including web accessibility, product app security, server-side load and performance, and client-side page speed. Stay up-to-date with new Android development trends and technologies, and mentor junior engineers on the team on best practices. Work closely with other members of the software development team to ensure that eBay's applications are of the highest quality and meet the needs of both clients and users. Work with other engineers, managers, product management, quality analysts, and operations teams to develop innovative technical solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, availability, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to software development goals and principles. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience in Android architecture and best practices, including ViewModel, LifecycleAware, JetPack, or DI frameworks like Dagger (2 years).
2. Experience designing and developing large-scale Android applications using Object-Oriented Design (2 years).
3. Experience developing, coding, and testing software and apps written in Java (2 years).
4. Experience troubleshooting apps using standard debugging practices to isolate the issue and triage effectively (2 years).
5. Experience creating, maintaining and organizing technical information in an accurate and concise manner (1 year).
6. Experience with distributed version control system like GIT (1 year).
Salary: $172,931.00-234,850.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
