The Senior Leadership Executive is responsible for overseeing strategic initiatives related to fleet and transportation management within a complex, multi-tiered supply chain network. This role requires expertise in fleet utilization, transportation strategy, cost management, and operational efficiencies to support business objectives. This role requires a dynamic leader with the ability to implement forward-thinking strategies that enhance logistics operations, drive cost savings, and improve service delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a comprehensive fleet and transportation strategy to optimize asset utilization and operational performance.
- Oversee third-party freight and private fleet operations, ensuring cost efficiency, service reliability, and operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with finance teams to manage vehicle acquisition plans, budget allocations, and sustainability initiatives, including alternative fuel strategies.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track fleet lifecycle, transportation efficiency, and logistics optimization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the transportation network, leveraging data analytics and technology to enhance visibility, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Provide leadership in managing fleet maintenance programs, route optimization, and logistics efficiency to reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Establish and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external logistics providers to support business objectives.
- Implement change management strategies to drive innovation and process improvements across logistics operations.
- Ability to integrate new processes and technologies into existing logistics frameworks for improved efficiency.
- Challenge the status quo by identifying inefficiencies and providing data-backed recommendations for operational improvements.
- Develop and oversee a long-term, five-year strategic plan for fleet operations and logistics optimization.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- 20+ years of experience in fleet operations, logistics, or supply chain management within a high-volume environment.
- Proven ability to develop and execute fleet and transportation strategies with a focus on cost management, efficiency, and performance improvement.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex logistics challenges to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Experience leading high-performance teams, fostering talent development, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in data analytics, performance metrics, and KPI management within fleet and transportation operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills to influence and drive strategic initiatives across the organization.
- Financial background or experience managing budgets and cost control initiatives.
- Proficiency in business tools including Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management systems.
