Associate Scientist - Functional GenomicsWhat you will doLet's do this. Let's change the world. The Amgen Functional Genomics organization is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join the Discovery Genomics team at our research facility in South San Francisco. This Associate Scientist will work with an energetic research team to execute NGS experiments at the bench and generate high quality data by using cutting-edge platforms for single cell/bulk genomics, perturbational screening, and automation.
Responsibilities:- Cell and nucleic acid isolation and generation of single cell/bulk/multi-omic NGS libraries
- Development and assessment of new RNA/DNA/epigenetic/protein profiling NGS technologies
- Operation and maintenance of high-throughput sequencers, quality control instruments, and automated liquid handlers, as well as maintenance of common laboratory material stocks
- Sample/project organization and clear documentation of experiments

Basic Qualifications:Master's degree with 1 year experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, or related fields or
Bachelor's degree with 1 year experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or genomics and at least 3 years of scientific experience in the related fields
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience applying NGS assays for therapeutic target discovery, mechanism-of-action studies, and biomarker identification
- Familiarity with processing and analysis of single-cell genomics data, cell hashing, CITE-seq, Perturb-seq, and other NGS data using R/Python
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and works well in teams
- Quick learner with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills in molecular biology
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to multi-task

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
