Job title: Behavior Support Staff/Caregiver
Salary: $25 per hour depending on experience
Hours: Part-Time/Full-Time (8-Hour Shifts) / 16-40 hours per week.
Location: Newport Beach, Travel Required
About the case:
Client is an individual with autism in his 20's. You will only provide services to this client. You will be assisting with bathing and hygiene routine, daily outings, and follow a set schedule for daily activities. Due to Self-Injurious Behaviors (SIB) (biting, hitting face, hitting floor and other objects, etc.), you will be working in a team of 2 staff members.
Responsibilities:
Follow client daily schedule and specific protocols for daily activities.
Drive client to community outings (walks, hikes, movies, etc.), workout classes and therapy sessions.
Collect data and write notes on behaviors and daily shifts.
Perform light housekeeping duties.
Work on communication and de-escalation procedures.
Assist with activities of daily living (showers, brushing teeth, dressing, etc.)
Requirements:
Must have weekend availability.
Must be able to perform physical work for at least 8 hours.
Must be willing to drive to clients home and perform services in the home and surrounding community.
Reliable transportation and drivers license.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping individuals with special needs.
Hight School diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
RBT (Preferred)
