Overview
Under general supervision, of the HR Director, provides support in administration and maintenance of Human Resources activities including recruitment, employment recognition, benefits, file management training and development and departmental operations. Responsible for providing support for the department when requested. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality.
The HR Coordinator will assist the HR Department in providing a wide range of HR administrative support to the HR Team, hospital staff and management. This position will primarily focus on coordinating the recruitment/onboarding program for the Hospital. The HR Coordinator is expected to have the ability to work independently, have excellent organizational and problem solving skills, can multi-task, is flexible and can work in an ever changing work environment. Experience working in a union environment is preferred.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Seton Medical Center. Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attends department specific education/training, in services, and staff meetings.
Assists with the development and implementation of HR training programs.
Responsible for maintenance of office and supplies.
Interfaces with employees and management in a courteous and professional manner and provides general assistance with departmental policies, procedures, programs and service requests.
Keeps current with the California Department of Labor Laws updates and ensures compliance with all California Labor Laws and HR policies. Provides guidance on a range of HR policies and union contract language to support staff and management and ensures effective communication of HR practices.
The onboarding process includes conducting background screens, scheduling pre-employment physicals, checking references, conducting primary source verification of licenses, education, and required certifications to ensure the candidate meets the requirements of the position and approves the start date.
Coordinates 1st day HR Orientation and General Hospital Orientation and provides administrative support to the Director.
Assist with Maintaining compliance with current year Joint Commission HR Standards and ensures HR compliance.
Data entry and Report Writing using HRMS system
Coordinates various HR projects.
Assists with New Employee Orientation.
Maintains personnel records ensuring confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and accuracy.
Assists HR Generalists with status changes and other entries into HRIS.
Maintains intake tracking logs for documents submitted to Human Resources (grievances, mail, checks, complaints, etc.). Distributes documents as appropriate.
Completes license verification using on-line system.
Tracks License/Certifications
Tracks performance evaluations.
Performs other duties that are consistent with meeting departmental and organizational goals and objectives

QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree
EXPERIENCE:
Three years’ experience in a similar capacity(preferred), preferably in the health care or human resources fields
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
Proficient in computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); Knowledge of HRIS system required.
