This Senior Data Analyst is focused on the development, creation, and support of analytic solutions supporting UnitedHealthcare’s Government Programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Individual and Family Exchange Business. We are seeking a highly skilled and curious Data Analyst to join our Data and Analytics team. This role involves partnering with account managers to deliver data-driven solutions for pharmacy benefit operations. The ideal candidate will manage and maintain a variety of recurring and ad-hoc reports, ensuring data accuracy and completeness. They will also explore data to identify patterns and insights and contribute to the continuous improvement of our reporting processes. Proficiency in SQL and SAS are essential, along with a proactive approach to learning new tools such as Python and Databricks. This position is an individual contributor.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with account managers to deliver data, analytics, and reporting solutions related to pharmacy benefit operations.
- Creatively develop custom reports, either by leveraging existing templates or by ideating completely unique solutions.
- Manage an inventory of existing recurring reports, serving as the main point of contact for questions, enhancements, or break-fix solutions.
- Serve as a team leader in supporting a suite of self-service capabilities for internal customers.
- Self-assign and manage ad-hoc report requests a shared queue, demonstrating the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet SLAs.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance report generation and data accuracy.

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, with a curiosity for exploring data, testing hypotheses, and identifying patterns to drive insights
- 2+ years of of hands-on experience with SAS EG, including proficiency in maintaining and developing SAS code, with a solid focus on PROC steps, DATA steps, and other key procedures
- Experience developing ad-hoc and reoccurring reports
- Experience working independently, self-assigning tasks and prioritizing work to meet SLAs
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders to develop/validate business requirements and deliver solutions that meet expectations
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience analyzing pharmacy claims data and other related PBM data sets such as prior authorization and eligibility
- Experience streamlining processes to increase team efficiencies
- Experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI
- Understanding of data governance and best practices in data management
- Familiarity with Python and/or cloud-based tools such as Databricks

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
