Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters
With over 183,000 parcels of land in Sonoma County, the Assessor's division of the Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters Office relies on their CAD Mapping Technicians to help provide residents of Sonoma County with accurate and timely property assessments.
As a CAD Mapping Technician I, you will learn to:
- Use AutoCad to create, update, and maintain Assessor maps, map records, and property records
- Interpret legal documents, proposals, and maps to determine their effect on property boundaries, title, and taxation
- Review and approve maps, proposals, and legal descriptions which are used by various agencies to create annexations, reorganizations, and Williamson Act contracts
- Assist professional surveyors, engineers, and attorneys with cadastral mapping related issues and requests
- Assist the public in-person and over the phone in areas related to property description, map interpretation, acreage status and other map related inquiries
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience and training with AutoCAD and related software tools
- Some experience working with real estate title policies and procedures
- Familiarity with survey maps and basic land surveying concepts
- Attention to detail for reviewing legal documents, proposals, and maps
- The ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with coworkers, the public, and professionals including surveyors, engineers, and attorneys regarding assessor mapping related issues
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
