The MPP Program Manager collaborates with our colleagues across Account Business Units and Optum Insight Operations teams market to ensure organized, smooth, successful service delivery to our MPP (Healthcare Systems) clients. This team is charged with holding in-scope client pillars responsible for executing delivery according to the delivery model (ie. Tollgate process planning, integration/transformation, revenue performance, and efficiency (C&P) planning, execution, and closeout, and internal client delivery meeting structure and governance). This position requires financial acumen, operational performance aptitude, desire to work in a highly matrixed environment, and is especially self-driven and organized.
MPPs are transformative partnerships between Optum and local health care organizations. Optum leads defined services (e.g., RCM, Care Management, IT, Analytics), allowing the organizations to remain independent and financially viable. This team supports the program management for the onboarding and integration phases, from transition to steady state, a period that lasts several years.
Primary responsibilities are focused on program managing delivery initiatives for large partnership clients with respect to the account management.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive program-level strategies, design, planning, and creation of appropriate transformation/integration, vendor, and staffing initiatives to facilitate delivery across all stages for clients. Manage plans and enforce controls to achieve partnership and performance goals
- Proactively ensure accountable teams deliver against financial and operational performance targets through development of and adherence to effective and standardized process mechanisms
- Integrate, align stakeholders to standard delivery model/framework. Execute against said delivery model. Facilitate formal Tollgates (stage gates) across the phases of delivery
- Develop client-specific Smartsheet cross-pillar sheets, reports, and dashboards as standardized for new MPPs
- Establish and manage internal and external cross-pillar governance structure and meetings and to ensure successful delivery for MPP client
- Drive cross functional collaboration among Account, Integration/Transformation, Operations, and other functional teams
- Develop and run onsite team sessions to build team, drive program initiatives toward achievement of financial plans, and to ensure cross-pillar alignment and collaboration
- Maintain solid executive presence with communication skills that span organizational levels
- Create communication plans that help socialize and gain consensus for solutions to be implemented
- Leverage sound project management methodologies and tools, aligned to MPP Onboarding and Integration delivery standards
- Proactively identify program risks and manage program risk mitigation plans

Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of portfolio management, program management, project management, leadership, and/or operational management experience in a matrixed environment
- Healthcare industry experience
- Program management of onboarding and integration phases of Revenue Cycle Mgt. and one of the following: Care Management, IT, Analytics
- Proven excellent understanding of program and project management methodology, best practices and tools with the ability to flex between each discipline
- Proven ability of working independently, with limited direction and in a team environment
- Proven ability to influence and work with internal and external stakeholders/resources to move projects and programs forward and overcome any challenges
Preferred Qualifications:
- Smartsheet or applicable Project Management technology experience
- Program management of onboarding and integration phases of one of the following: Care Management, IT, Analytics
- History and experience in large-scale client implementations and/or programs
- Proven ability to simultaneously work on multiple initiatives and lead project resources
- Proven ability to be comfortable presenting to executive leaders and all other levels throughout the organization with proven experience doing so
Up to 20% travel to the client is required.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
