Registered NurseOrthopedic/Neurosurgical (2E): Patient population consisting of orthopedics, neuro surgeries, traumas, seizure patients, as well as general medical patients. Our orthopedic patients are often treated for injuries of the bones and joints or occasional elective joint surgeries. Neurosurgery is the specialty focused on surgical treatment of disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, and cerebrovascular system. Often, we work with patients recovering from Craniotomies, Laminectomies and many other types of surgeries performed by our experienced care team. Neurology consists of treating disorders of the nervous systems. We care for patients who are here for injuries of the brain (Traumatic Brain Injuries), seizure patients who require EEG monitoring, as well as many other diagnoses.
About the Job- Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for an assigned patient population
- Assists physician during examinations and procedures
- Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
- Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patient and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Minimum Qualifications:- Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required
- RN with less than 3 years' patient-facing nursing experience at time of hire are required to be enrolled in a baccalaureate (or higher) degree program in nursing within 1 year of employment, with completion within 3 years of hire
- RN with at least 3 years' patient-facing nursing experience at time of hire, ADN or diploma required; BSN or higher preferred
- State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho prior to start date
- BLS Required
