Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Rail
Traction Power Engineer to act as Electrification Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the OnCorr project. Under the responsibility of the Egis Project Director, you will join the Technical Design Team (TDT) of Metrolinx as Electrification SME. You will be based in Metrolinx office, interacting with the rest of the team. On a day-to-day basis you will be managed by the Senior Project Manager System of the TDT.
You role is to :
- Attend design meetings with the contractor (OnXpress), identify issues for the development of the project and propose strategies / measures to address them.
- Review design documents, provide adequate comments to the design
- Attend interdisciplinary design review meetings to assess potential interface issues with other disciplines.
- Identify additional analysis needed to solve technical issues. Specify the scope of such additional work and coordinate with the Senior Project Manager to allocate this work.
- Be proactive to contribute to solve any issues related to the electrification project and to propose value for money solution.
Qualifications- University Engineering degree, or equivalent qualification such as a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 3 years of railway experience
- Knowledge of Software used for OCS design such as MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Main line / heavy rail experience with 25kV substation required
- Fluency in English and excellent communication skills
- Ability for diplomacy and resolving clashes between parties
