Our Construction and Infrastructure Division is growing and looking for a talented Estimator/Project Manager for the Detectable and Warning Tile Business , we are looking for an individual who will take our growth to the next level. This high-profile role reports directly to the Director of End User Sales Business Development.
In this role, you will develop product take-offs and prepare material quotes as well as develop a strategy for increasing product sales to national and regional transit agencies. This is a role will be based in Mississauga, Ontario and the role will be working out of this location.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop comprehensive, detailed, and accurate quantity take-offs and quotes for civil and transportation projects.
• Analyze plans, specifications, and drawings to identify product requirements and material quantities.
• Prepare and present clear, concise, and well-documented product take-offs to internal stakeholders and potential clients.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to determine best product option and gather necessary information for accurate quote.
• Develop and maintain key relationships with subcontractors, architects/engineers, and transit agency associates.
• Coordinate product production and delivery to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Identify and assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to control costs and ensure project profitability.
• Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations, explaining the basis for the prepared estimate.
• Conduct market research to understand and adjust to maintain competitive pricing positions to subcontractors and suppliers.
• Maintain organized records of digital project content related to correspondence, plans, drawings, specifications, sales orders, pricing, and warranties.
• Limited travel throughout US and Canada based on customer opportunities and project needs.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating in the surface/warning tile business is ideal!
• Strong knowledge and experience in quantity take-off
• A diploma or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to a variety of audiences.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• Knowledge and understanding of the project delivery methods in construction.
• Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a team environment.
• Ability to work under pressure in a changing environment.
• Excellent organizational & analytical skills.
• Strong PC skills (Excel/Word/Power Point/Adobe Acrobat) required.
• AutoCAD experience required
