Job Title: Spec, Quality Engingeering (Quality Inspector)

Summary: L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gulfstream G550 Quality Inspector to join our Field Service Representative (FSR) team in Italy. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the airworthiness and maintenance of a two-aircraft Gulfstream G550 fleet. As we expand our workscope to include aircraft maintenance, the addition of the Quality Inspector position is essential to prevent quality escapes and ensure the highest standards are met for our end-user.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Utilize expertise on the Gulfstream G550 platform to perform, supervise, and inspect maintenance and inspections as per Original Equipment Manufacturer technical data.
- Implement and enforce Quality Plans, Programs, and Procedures.
- Ensure maintenance actions and procedures adhere to manufacturer, company, and regulatory standards.
- Review, analyze, and report on Quality and Safety discrepancies related to aircraft maintenance.
- Oversee and review aircraft maintenance records and historical document entries.
- Investigate issues and develop solutions for recurring discrepancies.
- Liaise with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are fulfilled.
- Maintain responsibility for Quality, Safety, Hazardous Material, Analysis, Training, Functional Check Flight, Publications/Technical Orders, and Environmental Protection Programs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, security, and housekeeping standards.
- Assist in training new personnel.
- Operate authorized special purpose and regular vehicles.
- Maintain accountability for good housekeeping practices, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety.
- Perform inspections and critical task inspections.
- Recommend procedural changes to enhance aircraft maintainability and inspections.
- Coordinate SB/AD, and/or STC issues with International Programs Maintenance and Quality Managers.
- Ensure "AWBS" Aircraft Weight and Balance Program and paperwork are accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist in aircraft and ground accident/incident investigations and injury reports.
- Assist in aircraft maintenance activities as needed by the site.
- Ensure internal manuals (GOP, QAP, QB, SOP) used by employees are current and accessible.
- Assist Program Office and customer/end-user with quality-related inquiries and paperwork.
- Report directly to the PMO Quality Manager and receive daily tasks from the Site Lead, Maintenance Manager, and Chief Inspector as required.
Required Education, Experience, Licensure:
- Minimum of five years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience as an FAA A&P.
- At least one year in Aircraft Quality Control/Assurance.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License with Inspector Authorization (IA) required.
- Three years of experience with Gulfstream GIV, GV, or G550.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- DOD Secret clearance and ability to meet deployment requirements for OCONUS locations.
Additional Position Requirements:
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team.
- Ability to work in various environments and shifts to support mission requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft safety directives.
- Proficiency in English.
- Valid civilian driver's license and ability to obtain a government flight line driver license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a top-secret government security clearance.
- Knowledge of flight line operations and safety hazards.
- Computer literacy.
- Willingness to handle hazardous materials and conduct on-the-job training.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
- Supervisory/management experience preferred.
