Zoox is building the quality team that will take our first-in-class autonomous robot from development to commercialization. The Vehicle Quality Support is responsible for leading the Receiving Inspection and Vehicle Quality Audit & Factory Gate team members and ensuring that we have the right metrics, the right processes, and the right team to ensure that Zoox L3 & L5 vehicles are built to meet quality expectations.
In this role you will:
- Manage the daily activities of the receiving inspection and Vehicle quality audit & factory gate teams – including goal setting, performance management, and professional development of team members
- Define, collect, and report the key performance indicators to drive improvements build quality for the Zoox L3 & L5 fleet vehicles
- Manage quality issue tracking and driving root cause analysis and corrective actions for the production support quality team
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of production quality support team processes
- Partner with manufacturing, supplier quality, system integration, design engineering, and vehicle development teams to identify opportunities for performance improvement and escalate to senior management as necessary to achieve success
- Collaborate with other members of the quality team to develop key quality specifications and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related technical field with 10 - 15 years of experience in quality engineering field
- Experience managing a team of quality engineers and technicians in development and production environments
- Experience with quality issues and inventory management systems (such as Jira and SAP)
- Demonstrated proficiency performing quality root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions
- Demonstrated experience driving quality initiatives and successfully delivering desired quality outcomes
Bonus Qualifications
- Automotive experience at the OEM or Tier I level
- Experience in start-up/product launch activities
- Manufacturing engineering or logistics experience
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $167,000 to $241,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
