Intro / Job BriefThe Area Manager is a strategic and results-oriented leader who will play a critical role in expanding our consulting services across a designated region. Reporting to the Practice Director, in collaboration with Marketing & Sales as well as Practice Leaders, this individual will build and lead a high-performing team, develop and implement regional growth strategies, and foster strong client relationships to achieve exceptional business outcomes.
Responsibilities- Regional Growth & Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive regional growth strategy aligned with the overall company objectives.
- Collaborate with Marketing to conduct market research and analysis to identify new client opportunities in the assigned region.
- Develop and manage client relationships, driving new business development and client referrals.
- Collaborate with Practice Director and Director of People and Culture in the development and execution of regional marketing and sales campaigns.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a high-performing team of consulting professionals.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop talent, ensuring the team has the skills, attributes, and expertise to deliver exceptional client service.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
- Coach and mentor team members to achieve their full potential.
- Project Management & Delivery
- Oversee the successful delivery of consulting projects across the region, ensuring they meet client expectations and budget constraints.
- Implement project management best practices to ensure efficient and timely project execution.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate in implementing organizational standards and processes across regions.
- Performance Management & Reporting
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the region.
- Analyze performance data and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Leadership Team, highlighting regional performance and strategic initiatives.
- Regional Advocacy
- Act as the "eyes and ears" of the Leadership Team within the region, providing insights and recommendations.
- Maintain strong relationships with key regional stakeholders.
- Daily
- Review regional KPIs and project performance metrics.
- Engage with clients, prospects, and the regional team to ensure client satisfaction and team progress.
- Collaboration with Sales as part of prospect engagement to drive new project acquisitions.
- Collaborate with Practice Leaders to coordinate the appropriate technical and project resources for projects. Act as an escalation point for project resources.
- Weekly
- Conduct team huddles to discuss project updates and address any roadblocks.
- Monthly
- Present key regional data and progress reports at Leadership Team meetings.
- Review and update regional strategic plans in collaboration with the Management Team.
- Quarterly
- Analyze regional performance against established goals and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and present detailed action plans to address performance gaps.
- Conduct quarterly employee performance reviews.
- Annually
- Develop and present a comprehensive regional budget and growth plan for the following year.
- Evaluate regional performance against annual goals and objectives.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Consulting, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in consulting services or a related field.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with relevant methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed.
Additional Considerations- Project Management Certification (PMP or SCRUM) preferred.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry concepts.
- Current General Contractor's License, where relevant.
