Schedule: Monday through Friday, following the school bell schedule
Age Groups: Elementary, Middle, High
Population: Special needs students
Job Description:
We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Instructional Assistants to join our team and work directly with a school district for the second half of the ’24-’25 school year. As a IA's, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to special needs students in a classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
• Implement behavior management plans and interventions for individual students
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective strategies
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students and behavioral challenges
• Assist in the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior patters
• Collect and analyze data on student behavior and progress
• Support students during academic activities and transitions between classes
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of student behavior and progress
• Participate in teams meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Previous experience working with special needs students is preferred but not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a classroom environment, following the school bell schedule
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential
• Must pass a background check
• Valid CPR certification is required
Hours and Compensation:
This is an entry level position with approximately 30 hours per week. The pay range is $20-$27 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
