The Santa Barbara Museum of Art, a leading West Coast art museum, presents internationally-recognized collections and exhibitions and a broad array of cultural and educational activities.
Join us in this position supporting our Director of External Affairs and our Development Department with general administrative, clerical, and events assistance including office tasks of telephone inquiries, correspondence, processing invoices, maintaining files and checklists, and serving as liaison with other departments and staff on daily operational matters. This part time, temporary position is available from January 21st, 2025 through March 21st, 2025, subject to at will standards and practices, and may or may not be extended.
Requires excellent organizational abilities, experienced office work, general knowledge of non-profit fundraising preferred, and demonstrated writing capabilities. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Raiser’s Edge preferable. Excellent proofreading skills, thoroughness and attention to detail, proficient computer literacy and systems management, ability to anticipate tasks, take initiative and set priorities effectively, are all required skills for the success of effectively supporting the department.
• Schedule: Part-time at 20 hours per week
• Ability to adjust schedule on occasion to support evening or weekend events.
• Compensation: $23.10/hour
• Paid Sick leave of up to 40 hours
• As a temporary position available 1/21/25 through 3/21/25 (unless revised)
