9-Week Paid Event Internship 16 to 20hrs/wk | Feb 5-Apr 9 | $20/hr
Santa Barbara Channelkeeper is hiring a part-time intern to help with implementation of our 2025 Blue Water Ball, which takes place on March 29, 2025.
Santa Barbara Channelkeeper protects and restores the Santa Barbara Channel and its watersheds through science-based advocacy, public education and engagement, and field work.
Responsibilities:
Help coordinate event logistics at the direction of management, to include the following:
• Assist as needed with sourcing auction inventory and maintaining auction item budget spreadsheet.
• Assist as needed with sourcing and organizing vendor information, images, and logos for digital and print promotional materials.
• Assist as needed with organizing details for catering, entertainment, decor, audio/visual, and/or fulfillment setup.
• Assist with event setup and take down.
• Assist with post-event follow-up with vendors and vendor correspondence.
Qualifications:
• Keen interest in nonprofit events and fundraising for a nonprofit organization
• Keen interest in the Channelkeeper mission (www.sbck.org)
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask, organize time, and adapt to changing priorities
• Knowledge of local vendors and business community
• Interest in water sports a plus
• Proficiency with Canva a plus
• Valid California Driver's License and personal vehicle/reliable transportation
