Minimum shift coverage needed:
2PM - 10:30PM. Sundays.
Option to work up to 30 hours a week for qualified applicants.
Description:
-Production Bakers are responsible for producing all recipes in the Timeless catalog through use of commercial kitchen equipment in addition to completing daily assigned production lists.
-This role follows recipes, measures, mixes, scoops/forms, bakes, finishes, and stores products.
-Pastries produced include but are not limited to scones, pies, cookies, cinnamon rolls, danish, croissants, frittata, quiche, cakes, breakfast sandwiches, and rolls.
Qualifications:
-1 year of professional baking or kitchen experience
-Working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, gas range stove tops, flat top griddles, deep fryer, and deli slicing machines
-Ability to lift 50lbs
-Comfortable working independently and closing down a kitchen
-Ability to stand for extended periods of time
-Valid California food handlers certificate or ability to obtain one within 7 days of hire
-Completion of state mandated sexual harassment prevention training within 7 days of hire
-Knowledge of plant based/vegan ingredients is a plus
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following -
-Follow and complete assigned production lists to meet production pars and fulfill orders
-Operate a 30qt Hobart Mixer
-Operate gas ovens
-Accurately read and follow recipes written in English
-Weigh ingredients accurately and use table scales
-Mix doughs and batters
-Scoop, portion, and form doughs, batters, fillings, etc
-Properly store and rotate completed pastries
-Maintain a clean and sanitized work station
-Refill ingredient bins
-Wash dishes, empty the grease trap, sweep and mop floors, take out trash, recycling and compost
-Close down the kitchen, and have the space set up for the next shift
-Lock up establishment and set alarm code
-Follow kitchen dress code including wearing closed toe non slip shoes, aprons, and hair coverings
-Ability to follow a digitally published app based schedule
-Ability to problem solve, exercise sound judgment and anticipate future bakery needs
-Document recipes and quantities produced in a production log
-Update management on low supply levels and periodically assist with inventory counts
-Communicate equipment issues to management in a timely manner
-Immediately inform management about any production list discrepancies or completion issues
