Hello! My name is Olga Philippova, owner of Purple Finch Studio. I am a couture fashion designer specializing in bridal and formal gowns. I’m seeking a dedicated, skilled Tailor’s Assistant to support all aspects of our custom tailoring process. This is a full-time position starting at $25 per hour.
Responsibilities
Assist with every step of the couture tailoring process, including pattern adjustments, cutting, sewing, and embellishments.
Perform bridal gown alterations, ensuring each client’s perfect fit.
Maintain an organized, clean studio for efficient workflow.
Provide support during client fittings with professional, courteous service.
Requirements
At least 3 years of women’s clothing tailoring experience (bridal/formal wear preferred).
Knowledge and hands-on experience with corsets, lacework, and delicate fabrics.
Solid understanding of garment construction and fabric types.
Excellent communication skills for client interactions.
Proficiency in both industrial machine sewing and fine hand-sewing techniques.
Basic math skills for accurate measurements and adjustments.
A keen eye for detail and a passion for high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
