Day in the Life of a City Launcher at Workstream- Team Leadership & Development: Managing a team of 3-4 city launch associates, providing mentorship, setting clear goals, and ensuring team members have the resources and support needed to successfully execute market entry plans. Fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment to achieve launch and growth objectives.
- Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: Conducting comprehensive market research and in-depth needs analysis to understand the unique requirements and pain points of both potential customers and partners in new cities. Identifying high-value expansion opportunities and aligning them with Workstream's growth strategy.
- City Launch Strategy Development: Developing and executing tailored go-to-market strategies for each city. This involves defining key local partners, operational requirements, and market entry strategies, all while aligning with Workstream's long-term vision and goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Building strong relationships with key stakeholders in target cities, including local executives, HR leaders, operations teams, and government entities. Delivering compelling presentations that outline how Workstream can address their specific challenges and create value, ensuring alignment from all levels of decision-makers.
- Partnership Development & Negotiation: Leading discussions with strategic partners, including local employers, staffing agencies, and tech providers, to negotiate contracts and form valuable partnerships that drive the adoption and success of the Workstream platform in new markets.
- Operationalizing New Markets: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of new market launches, managing everything from onboarding partners to training teams, ensuring the successful integration of Workstream's solutions into local workflows, and troubleshooting any operational hurdles that arise.
- Revenue Growth & Client Retention: Managing ongoing relationships with newly onboarded partners and clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, and identifying opportunities to scale revenue within those markets. Tracking performance, optimizing processes, and driving growth through increased engagement and repeat business.
- Project Management & Execution: Managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously while ensuring efficient execution, from strategy development to market launch. Ensuring all milestones are met on time and within scope while maintaining high-quality standards across all functions.
- Travel & Market Engagement: Spending significant time traveling to new markets for on-the-ground meetings with potential clients, partners, and key stakeholders. Conducting site visits, market assessments, and forming the necessary local relationships to ensure successful launches and sustained growth.
What You'll Do- Manage: Own and streamline workflows to ensure successful project execution, from launch planning to the ongoing growth of Workstream in new markets.
- Strategize: Develop and implement creative, data-driven strategies for customer acquisition, partner development, and operational excellence in high-priority markets.
- Experiment: Apply data analytics and business insights to test and iterate on strategies that optimize everything from user experience to operational efficiency in new regions.
- Analyze: Use data modeling to assess the economic impact of marketing, acquisition, and retention initiatives, while balancing strategic considerations across all marketplace stakeholders.
- Build: Drive business development by identifying and securing new partnerships in both existing and new markets, contributing to the growth of the Workstream platform and other verticals.
- Influence: Collaborate cross-functionally with teams from Operations, Product, Marketing, Business Development, Engineering, and Sales to launch new markets and optimize operations.
Who You Are- Experience: 1-2 years in a high-impact, growth-focused role such as operations, business development, or market expansion, with a proven track record of successfully launching and scaling new markets or projects in fast-paced environments.
- Presence and Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of confidently presenting to senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners. Adept at articulating complex ideas clearly and persuasively, with a strong business acumen that enables you to identify market opportunities and drive impactful conversations.
- Strategic Thinking: A strategic, creative problem-solver who thrives on opportunity identification and market entry strategy. Able to analyze, size, and evaluate opportunities, and generate buy-in from stakeholders at all levels, driving alignment across internal teams and external partners.

- Travel and Location: Willing to travel 30-50% of the time and comfortable with a 5-day in-office policy. Must be based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco/Menlo, with flexibility to travel to new and existing markets as needed.

Salary Range: In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this role is between $130,000 - $165,000 OTE in San Francisco. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
