Overview
We are seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist 3 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, building and maintaining relationships with hiring managers and provide coaching and counseling to managers and associates on complex associate relations issues.
Essential Functions
- Counsel associates and management on conflict resolution, complex associate relations issues, performance management, compensation and other confidential Human Resources matters including delivering corrective action and termination decisions to associates
- Participate in weekly associate relations meetings, provide updates to AR team, and track corrective action in the assigned database
- Conduct complex or advanced thorough, effective and objective internal investigations as needed partnering with legal when necessary
- Conduct exit interviews and participate in unemployment claim hearings
- Manage large, complex projects with large impact and participate in annual associate handbook revision process
- Develop knowledge in other HR business functions (benefits, HRIS, training, compensation, wellness, strategy)
- Demonstrate commitment to data integrity by ensuring accurate, complete and thorough documentation and tracking of step/status for each candidate in Garmin's Applicant Tracking System by updating it within a timely manner and verifying accuracy through reports
- Explore solutions presented by vendors/suppliers and serve as a frontline liaison with vendors
- Meet and/or exceed department and individual KPIs
- Mentor and/or provide training for less experienced team members (HRG 1, HRG 2, Coordinators)
- Work collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals and provide excellent customer service to employees and business partners
- Conduct assessments and recommend methods for enhanced efficiency and/or to address problems and implement recruiter and AR related solutions to achieve HR tactical and strategic goals
- Ensure compliance with HR related legislation and regulations and Garmin HR policies with oversight from HR management and Legal
- Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities and applies good judgment in setting schedules and risk taking
- Provide reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems using sound problem solving techniques and independently determine general approach and specific solutions to technical problems
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or another related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR a Master’s Degree in HR, Business or related field AND a minimum of 3 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrated understanding of HR related legislation, practices, processes, programs and technology
- Demonstrated expertise in an HR business function outside of Associate Relations and Recruitment such as Training, Compensation and/or Benefits
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven track record demonstrating accountability and achievement of department and individual KPIs
- Previous experience working with others to resolve problems or conflicts
- Demonstrated capacity to mentor or train others
- Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage time in a fast paced, challenging environment with excellent follow-up skills
- Demonstrated effective presentation skills and public speaking ability
- Ability to maintain flexibility to travel up to 10% of the time
- Must possess previous experience and commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding business and Human Resources matters
- Demonstrated ability to leverage business knowledge and HR metrics in decision making and demonstrated critical reasoning skills
Desired Qualifications
- Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
- AIRS or PHR certification
