SummaryAs a Performance Optimization Program Manager at Hummingbird, you'll collaborate with operational leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and technical teams to monitor, design, and execute optimization programs with a focus on our Patient Access as a Service Operate service line. You will be accountable for leading performance monitoring efforts across client engagements, ensuring data-driven insights are used to drive improvements in service delivery and business strategy.
In this role, you will contribute to key initiatives aimed at enhancing service outcomes. You will collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to implement scalable optimization solutions that align with business priorities and drive impactful results.

Performance Monitoring - Spearhead internal performance monitoring efforts for our operate clients, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measuring progress over the client life cycle.
- Collaborate with operational team members to define and execute performance monitoring and data collection strategies that evaluate service outcomes.
- Monitor the success of consulting engagements, ensuring performance data is captured and leveraged for outcome reporting. You may serve in a performance monitoring role on consulting engagements or advise consulting team members and engagement leads on Hummingbird processes for performance monitoring.
- Analyze performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities, providing recommendations for optimizing service delivery.
- Partner with Hummingbird's Growth team to integrate outcomes into sales and marketing efforts, bringing successes to the market.
Performance Program Operations - Lead portfolio management efforts within performance programs, partnering with operational leaders to ensure plans are well documented, fostering transparency for internal performance improvement activities within operate.
- Partner with operational leaders and Value & Insights Leader to ensure initiatives are prioritized based on data, insights, and alignment with company goals and financial targets.
- Serve as a liaison between technical team, consulting team, operational leaders to translate complex performance data into meaningful outcomes and actionable insights
- Research and apply best practices and innovative approaches to performance optimization, creating a culture of improvement built upon evidenced-based methodologies.
- Continuously monitor the effectiveness of performance programs and adjust as needed to ensure targeted outcomes are met.
Program Design & Implementation - Integrate data and insights into performance optimization efforts and business strategy
- Collaborate with operational leaders, SMEs, consultants, and technical teams to scope, estimate, design, and execute cross-functional performance optimization programs within Operate, which may include providing project management support.
- Partner with Hummingbird's learning and development team to design, develop, and lead company-wide educational programs on performance monitoring design standards, fostering a data-driven and human-centric culture at Hummingbird.
- Promote the role of every employee in driving measurable outcomes for Hummingbird, its customers, and patients, integrating performance optimization into daily operations.
Performance Program Reporting & Analytics - Act as a liaison between operational, performance transformation, and data/technology teams to ensure the internal reporting suite meets Hummingbird's needs for performance monitoring and strategic planning.
- Engage with Hummingbird and client data & analytics and teams to ensure actionable outcome reporting for consulting projects.
- Ensure accuracy and relevance of performance reports, supporting data validation
- Produce performance program reports, identify trends and opportunities for improvement through in-depth analysis of performance data, offering insights to drive decision-making and progress.
Optimization Strategy & Innovation - Partner with operational leadership to align optimization efforts with strategic business priorities.
- Evaluate new tools, methodologies, and processes that can enhance Hummingbird's ability to foster performance optimization.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies that drive performance optimization.
- Stay abreast of industry benchmark data sources and target performance metrics.
- Support coordination of evaluation and implementation of third-party solutions to enhance performance across Hummingbird's Operate service-lines, as needed.
Team Leadership - Provide guidance and mentorship to a small team of individual contributors, offering regular feedback on performance, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular 1-1 meetings with team members, offering guidance and support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their objectives.
- Set performance objectives and development plans for team members and conduct performance reviews.
- Lead by example in demonstrating high performance standards and expectations.
Required & Desired SkillsRequired Skills and Experience - 5+ years of experience in healthcare performance improvement, patient access strategy or healthcare program management.
- Familiarity with the Epic platform or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems, including experience with data extraction and native Epic reporting tools.
- Expertise in data analysis and interpretation, including proficiency with data manipulation, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing data strategies to drive business outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record of leading projects independently and driving them to successful completion.
- Experience mentoring less experienced team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Experience scoping, managing, and executing projects, ensuring outcomes align with client and organizational goals.
Desired Skills and Experience - Certification or advanced degree in a related field, such as systems engineering, public health, or business administration.
- Certifications in project management or performance improvement.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, regulations, and standards, particularly related to patient access and healthcare technology.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build consensus around data-driven decisions.
