Junior Estimator - Enhancements Role Responsibilities
As a Junior Estimator for Enhancements at Flor Landscaping, you will support the sales and operations teams by preparing accurate and competitive estimates using Buildertrend. Your role will ensure that all proposals align with company standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating and Proposal Preparation
Use Buildertrend to prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Collaborate with the sales team to gather information on client needs and project goals.
Develop proposals that include project descriptions, timelines, and pricing breakdowns using Buildertrend.
Conduct quantity takeoffs and cost analysis to ensure accurate pricing.
Site Visits and Assessments
Visit job sites to assess conditions, gather measurements, and document existing landscapes.
Identify potential challenges or constraints that could impact project costs or timelines.
Take photographs and detailed notes to support project proposals.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and the design team to finalize proposals.
Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes for materials and equipment.
Coordinate with subcontractors to verify pricing and scope for outsourced work.
Maintain clear and professional communication with clients as needed.
Data Management and Reporting
Accurately input and update project details in Buildertrend.
Track and document changes to project scope or pricing during the estimating process.
Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and supporting documentation.
Continuous Improvement
Stay updated on landscaping industry trends, materials, and pricing to ensure competitive bids.
Participate in team meetings and provide feedback to improve estimating processes.
Assist in reviewing completed projects to compare estimated vs. actual costs for future learning.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data.
Experience with Buildertrend or similar estimating software (required).
Basic knowledge of landscaping construction practices and materials (preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or related tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
